Looks like the 4GB Xbox360 S can be upgraded with 250GB HDDWhile Microsoft has yet to confirm this tasty tidbit, the packaging of the 4GB Xbox360 S has revealed various accessories that can be bought with the device, such as Kinect, wireless Xbox360 controllers, and, a 250GB hard drive. Apparently, such a HDD already exists, but comes bundled with the 250GB Xbox360 S, and the Halo Reach Special Edition. Speculation however, based on recent comments by Aaron Greenberg, seems to point towards a standalone release as well.Guillermo Del Toro to develop video gamesAcclaimed director of such movies as Spawn, Pan’s Labyrinth, HellBoy, and many more cult classics, Guillermo Del Toro has confirmed he has signed a deal with a "big company" to develop multiple titles. The just concluded quarter ending June 2010 has seen some remarkable numbers from various companies, including Microsoft and Apple. What is perhaps the most interesting turnaround though, is AMD ATI finally edging ahead of Nvidia in terms of discrete GPU shipments. Many unbiased gamers and even Nvidia fanatics have experienced problems with the green giant in recent times, forcing them to switch over to ATI until Nvidia finally decided to do something about it. Do it they did, with the release of the much awaited and first DX11 GPU from Nvidia, based on the Fermi architecture. But having had their place firmly planted in gamers’ hearts for more than a year now, as well as the good 6 month lead in launching DX11 GPUs, ATI has managed to get a 51% share of the discrete GPU market,...

The MotoGP game franchise has been licensed to Japanese developer Capcom since 2007, and it released its first instalment of the series on the PS2 console. Starting from 2008, the game was shifted to the latest-gen PS3 and Xbox 360 systems. Having skipped 2009, the latest episode has just been recently released, and is branded as MotoGP 09/10. The idea behind this move is that the game will feature the authentic and official lineup of 2009, and will add new content via the PS3's internet connection as the 2010 season progresses. For example, the first update that will be rolled out this month (July) will contain the 800cc class and associated teams, plus the new Silverstone (UK) track. A future update will introduce the 600cc and 125cc series. In franchises like this, each instalment...

So, we finally get to hear Microsoft’s rationale for pricing the Kinect at $149, exorbitant even if bundled with Kinect Adventures. We knew that Microsoft was waiting for something to announce its Kinect pricing, and after Sony’s Move pricing was revealed right at E3 2010, the world waited till Microsoft revealed just how much its next-gen controller tech would cost. And now, it seems it’s still all about Sony. Microsoft claims that at $149, you get a 2-player experience (remember, the Kinect only supports 2-players at once) for near the same price of Sony’s 2-player Move experience, i.e., two PlayStation Move Controllers and one PlayStation Eye camera. A Microsoft spokesperson urged people to "do the maths", after which they will realise the Kinect is...

Capcom has announced that they are working on yet another crossover fighting game; however, this time the choice of the other candidate is rather curious. Yoshinori Ono— who is working as the producer on the project— stated that the idea for this game originated with the intention of “making history”. He went on to elaborate that the history that is being made here is that the game's characters will be rivals not only in the game world, but apparently also in the business world. Ono sullied all hopes of a joint development between Capcom and Namco Bandai when his statement in the official announcement trails with a rather menacing declaration of a “...decisive battle for Capcom and Namco Bandai Games”. The announcement is not very clear about the...

The absolutely free 4-player co-op from Valve, entitled Alien Swarm, also offers first person shooter gameplay, if the player so desires. Using simple console commands (listed below), a player can switch from a top-down view of the arena, to a first-person view. While the option is great, it is probably only fun as a novelty, as several players have complained at the how ridiculously hard to control the game becomes, when one can’t keep track of the rest of your team from an aerial perspective. Skilled squad-based FPS players will possibly not find this too difficult, but other complaints include reduced graphics and lack of hacking screen operability. Do try your hand at it though, and tell us what you think! Check out the console commands below, and, an automated script version,...

Critical headshots If you’re any sort of gamer, you know that tools are an important part of the trade and while human skill is tantamount, proper equipment is very important. Gaming mice and surfaces are about razor precision as well as making a statement and sometimes, bling. We try our hands on some of the deadliest rodents to ever set Teflon feet on mat. An oft-used adage – a bad carpenter blames his tools. You’ve heard of this, yes? When it comes to gaming, however, the carpenter, gamer, whoever, could very well be justified in blaming his gear. Just the same, it’s not the mouse that makes the man, so don’t please don’t think that buying an expensive gaming mouse is all that separates you from becoming the next Fatal1ty! But if you’re a...
