Last night was one to remember, at least for many of those who have been eagerly waiting for years to see the next generation Xbox console. While Sony hosted its event earlier in February, where they expected fans to be content with just a controller reveal, Microsoft went all out and unveiled the new console in all its shiny black glory. Within the first five minutes of the event, the world knew what the new console looked like, and that it was dubbed the Xbox One. Sony is trying to steal a bit of Microsoft’s thunder by showcasing a teaser video of the hardware design of the PS4. The teaser trailer was released a day before the announcement of the next-gen Xbox.The video showcases a blurry PS4 console. The look of the PS4 console is something we were waiting to see at the Sony February PS4 event but unfortunately the company didn't reveal it. What the event showcased was a bunch of game demos, the potential of the hardware, a new controller design and some online features.The teaser trailer ends with June 10 being the grand unveiling of the console, which is the date for Sony’s E3 press conference. Rumour has it that Microsoft may be gearing up to ditch the “Microsoft Points” system altogether across all properties, but most notably from Xbox Live. This isn’t the first time this rumour has come up, but the timing is what makes us feel that this time, it just might be for real.The Verge quotes sources close to Microsoft, stating that the old points system would be replaced with the use of real currency, where users would be able to purchase content using debit and credit cards, or even gift cards.
