Square Enix will publish a new Lara Croft game that is currently under developed at Crystal Dynamics. The new game is titled Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and there is good reason for the striking absence of Tomb Raider in the title.Guardian of Light will be a co-operative multiplayer game played from an isometric view. Lara Croft will be assisted on her adventures in South America by a Mayan tribesman named Totec. The two will have to work in tandem to solve puzzles, fight enemies and successfully overcome obstacles. The game will only be available in a downloadable version through online distribution networks. So far, Square Enix has not disclosed on which platforms the game will be available. Valve Corporation has promised a return to Aperture Science Labs by the end of this year. Portal 2 is currently under development as a standalone, full-priced game. As of this moment, details are scarce and whatever little information that has cropped up about the game has not come directly from Valve. According to games listing on GameStop, Portal 2 will be released on PC and the Xbox 360. The listing does not mention a PlayStation 3 version of the game; something which is not surprising considering Gabe Newell’s view on the console . The listing also confirms the game’s release date as October 26, 2010; however, this is likely to change. The battle between former Infinity Ward heads – Jason West & Vince Zampella – and Activision only seems to be getting uglier. After being fired from Activision in the beginning of March, West and Zampella filed a lawsuit against Activision in a Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, seeking to force the company to pay them their royalty dues, apart from claims of breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, wrong termination in violation of public policy, and declaratory relief.
