The game many of you are waiting for – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – has now been given a release date – 08/11/11 across consoles. This isn’t Infinity Ward or Activision’s official release date however, and is courtesy a ‘leaked’ listing on Amazon, which included some promotional emails. Other sites have since listed the same date as well.

So far, IW’s MW3 has only enjoyed a few boring teaser trailers, and no gameplay has been seen. Other leaks have revealed a few other unconfirmed details, enough that fans expecting a chronological sequel will be satisfied. This time around, the action will take place all over the world, in famous locations from Paris to Manhattan to Mogadishu and Dharamshala. Over 20 multiplayer maps are expected, and a host of new lovingly-detailed weapons.
